Cleanliness is next to yellowness...........
Check out this impossibly clean 1988 Cadillac Eldorado on the ebay, even if you don’t like these, just bask in its perfect yellow cleanliness. Only 15,000 miles have traveled under it’s whites and wires since she left the showroom.
It makes me want to put on too much jewelry and go cruise the Galleria Mall........
Anyone else miss color coordinated trunk carpet?
1988 was the year Cadillac further refined the HT4100 in the the 4.5, with 155hp making this more sprightly than the earlier 1986-87 versions, 1988 was also the year Cadillac “corrected” some of the styling errors on the too small 1986-1987 Eldorado, resulting in a reverse of the sales nose dive that came with the downsized 1986 Eldorado.
Opinions?

Still can’t get over how these (and the similar Toronado and Riviera) looks like Grand Ams from the same era, from a distance.

That thing is museum-grade, concours quality clean.
Spotless, crackless, leather. No warping in the dash. The paint is still intact (miraculous for a late 80s GM finish). The engine bay looks like a display model for an auto trade show. Hell, the carpets are vacuum-manicured like a PGA caliber fairway. It looks like it’s been not just garage kept, but vacuum sealed for the last 29 years.
It brings back memories of learning to drive in my fathers 1988 Olds Cutlass Ciera Brougham.

I was never a fan of that generation Eldorado. The previous ‘79-’85 model did a much, much better job of downsizing to a smaller and more efficient platform while still looking like a proper Cadillac. I would also stay well away from a car that old with that few miles, since it is going to need everything done to it. My Lincoln only sat for 8 years and was used fairly regularly before that, and most of the seals were shot.
However, that color yellow is delightful, especially in triple yellow combination. I wish Cadillac still offered it.

I’d be interested in a 1980's inspired caddy concept. Those assholes arent going to make the good ones anyways, so they may as well do the 1980's“right”
